Changes to the System
Feedback from the Patient Survey showed that many of you felt you had to wait too long for a routine appointment with a doctor.
Because of this we have decided to make changes to our appointment system. We hope that this will also help to reduce the number of wasted appointments when patients have forgotten to attend.
| We have increased the number of 'on the day' appointments. Please telephone BEFORE 10 AM. |
Please be reminded to telephone AFTER 11am for all routine enquiries, test results, and repeat prescriptions for the housebound.
PLEASE NOTE
The Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant appointments will be unaffected.
Booking Appointments
The surgery reception phones are staffed from 8.30 until 12.45pm and 2pm until 6.30pm. We offer a range of appointments and offer 'on the day' and advance bookings.
The duration of appointments can vary but is usually 10 minutes. If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know so that we may reallocate it to another patient.
If you need an appointment for a full medical please book adequate time - a minimum of 20 minutes.
Appointments for a blood test can be made with the health care assistant.
It is often helpful to know a little about why you wish to see the doctor or nurse; the reception staff are conversant with the need for confidentiality. However, if you would rather not say so, if asked, simply state that it is "in confidence".
